AWARE Coral Reef Conservation

WHY YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE:

Everyone likes to scuba dive or snorkel in warm, clear water on a vibrant coral reef; if you want to be more knowledgeable about what you’re seeing and the importance of reef ecosystems, this course helps you appreciate the complexity of these habitats and teaches you how you can help conserve these vital systems.

• Minimum Age: None

• Prerequisites: None, BUT an interest in the aquatic world

COURSE SCHEDULE:​

• Max Participants: 8

• Start time: 8AM (daily) or by appointment

• Location: Two-way Video-Conference (e.g. Zoom…) or Monterey, CA

• Duration:

  • eLearning: complete BEFORE in-person session: 2-4 hours

  • One dive: 5-7 hours

WHAT YOU LEARN:

Get the PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty Certification. Participate in a fun Interactive Workshop with Bruce. You’ll learn how coral reefs function and the complex nature of life on a reef, why coral reefs are so important, why many coral reefs are in serious trouble, and what you can do to prevent further decline.​​​
