AWARE Dive Against Debris

WHY YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE:
This course is for divers who want to safely remove trash from the ocean, report their data, and understand the influence that their actions have the environment.
Minimum Age: 10 Years Old
Prerequisites: (Junior) Open Water SCUBA Certified

Location: Monterey, CA (alternate locations available upon request)

eLearning: complete BEFORE in-person session: 2-3 hours
One dive: 3-4 hours
WHAT YOU LEARN:
Get the PADI AWARE Dive Against Debris® Diver Specialty Certification. Independent study eLearning then make a Dive Against Debris survey dive with Bruce, during which you’ll collect marine debris underwater. After your dive, you’ll weigh, sort, record, dispose of and report your marine debris to the PADI AWARE Foundation™ database. You’ll learn how ocean plastic and trash cleanups not only keep your local dive sites healthier, but also how to contribute to a global database that documents our planet’s marine debris problem.
