AWARE Sea Turtle Conservation

Observe and identify sea turtles, love sea turtles and protect sea turtles every time you dive.

WHY YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE:

If you’ve ever seen a sea turtle, you simply had to smile. You will understand the what, where, when, and why of these amazing animals, their role in the marine ecosystem, and the criticality of their preservation.

  • Minimum Age: 10

  • Prerequisites: (Junior) Open Water SCUBA Certified


COURSE SCHEDULE:​

  • Max Participants: 4

  • Start time: 8AM (daily) or by appointment

  • Location: Two-way Video-Conference (e.g. Zoom…) then TBD in a warm water locale.

  • Duration:

    • Interactive Workshop: 1-2 hours

    • Two dives: 5-7 hours


WHAT YOU LEARN:

Get the PADI AWARE Sea Turtle Awareness Distinctive Specialty Certification. Participate in a fun Interactive Workshop, then two dives with Bruce. You’ll learn: basic sea turtle identification and conservation; sea turtle species and their habitats; and the importance of sea turtles to marine biodiversity and what can be done to reduce the loss of sea turtles worldwide; and how to record sea turtle data.​
